Aqua Windchime
More Chimes

My windchime business was developed eighteen years ago from a long-time interest in the study of Sound and the dynamic effect that it plays on our psychological & physical well being. The combinations of notes, dimensions & spacing of the tubing has being carefully researched. Great attention has been given to the quality and durability of the different components making up the wind chimes. The focus is not on mass production at a budget price, thereby compromising the overall integrity of the product. A slapdash construction & assemblage has a direct negative effect on the sound. Because our audible capacity is ten times our visual range, it can be appreciated how much damage stress & noise continually exerts on our subconscious. Proper tuning is therefore essential to peace of mind.
We offer a wide variety of nine differently named & hand crafted wind chimes. The appeal of each is more importantly the individual mood or "colour" of sound, than the identifying design. I have found that people choose specific sounds according to their individual accumulated experience. I continue to introduce new sounds and create new wind chimes to cater for these individual preferences & diversities. It is comparable to the appeal of a work of art. What is meaningful & beautiful to one may be obscure to another. Always the main intention behind these wind chimes is to evoke joy, serenity and harmony.
All wind chimes are decorated with semi-precious stones, specifically chosen to suit the different types & their specific sounds. Seven different colours of these stones have been used in the Pentatonic wind chimes and the Yellowbells. These colours correspond to the seven colours of the light spectrum & to the seven chakra centers.
All metal tubes are anodised aluminium and do not rust. Therefore no special care is needed to ensure the continued purity of sound.
The plates are made from a chosen quality wood. Cheaper woods effect the resonance or timbre of the sound. The Oak is treated with three coats of the well-known imported Dutch wood preservative, Rhubol. Covering an inferior wood with merely a coating of oil is totally inadequate to guard against extreme weather conditions.
It is important that all holes drilled into the wood are plugged, to stop water from seeping into them, expanding the wood and cracking it. The imported bronze silicone yachting nails from the UK and the specially adapted buttons, plug the holes of the wooden surfaces, giving the article a superior lifespan.
Most other wind chimes last only one windy season before the cord, from which the tubes are suspended, breaks due to their constant abrasion in the wind. The specially inserted eyelet into every tube stops the cord from fraying, again making it more durable.
The top suspension ring is purposely not fixed. Instead a non-rust fishing swivel has been used to avoid friction & deterioration of the suspension cord.
The sticker, swing ticket, the ribbon, tissue paper wrapping & the stylised Cape of Good Hope triangular stamp, all adds to the overall attention to detail, echoing a thoughtful and sensitive gift.

The silk-screened designs on the perspex plates have been expressly created to complement the chosen notation systems ie. Nature's Bell with notes chosen from Beethoven's Pastoral Symphony, using the Sun Tone frequency, has an appropriate green leafy design. The same applies to the other silk-screened perspex-plated wind chimes ie. Dolphin and Whale Chimes & Breath of Africa wind chimes.
